Hello, everyone! I hope you're having a fabulous Wednesday. I have browsed all corners of Etsy to bring you a theme this week--KEYS. I feel like they're something different and unexpected in jewelry, so I thought, "you know, that would be interesting.' And let me tell you it was! The items I am showcasing this week are a few of the plethora of key jewelry items available...just to get you started.
Item #1 is from ShelleyCooperJewelry
There aren't a large number of key bracelets that caught my eye on etsy, but this one immediately did. I like that it's not just a charm (most of them are), I feel like this one is more of a statement piece with the size of the key itself. It's supported by two metal bangles and looks to have a hook and eye closure (definitely a plus when fastening bracelets can be a pain). There are two styles to choose from: burnished bronze and silver tone. The silver tone finish has silver rhinestones, and the burnished bronze has copper and iridescent rhinestones. Either of the two would go really well paired with other bracelets and would be a great addition to your accessory stockpile!
Item #2 is from SuzanNoyesNecklaces
I absolutely freaking LOVE this necklace! It has a lot going on, but it's well balanced and would be an awesome statement piece for an outfit. The design has used four different types of chain in this necklace, and the combination is quite striking--the visual texture is wonderful. There are also coins, keys, arrow-shaped drops, bee beads, and Indian brass bells that accent this piece. This is definitely a must have statement item, and I'm adding it to my want list along with some other items!
Item #3 is from FabFleaMarket
Now, before you say anything about this set being mismatched, it's supposed to be that way! That's what makes this set unique! I personally like that these are mismatched because I think that it actually makes the set look balanced as one has more detail than the other. I love that these are being re-purposed and not left sitting around somewhere. And, the patina/rust just adds more vintage-ness to them!
Item #4 is from LeBijouAntique
Ooh wee! Boy do I love this blue-gren patina! It makes the key look so delicate and vintage! The chain is also very lovely. It is a bronze beaded chain and comes in two different lengths--both of which will fall below the chest (which are nice lengths). I've always like the longer necklaces because you don't have to worry about that one length that tends to want to hide down the front of you shirt! I can't be the only one with that problem, right?
Item #5 is from metalworxjewelry
I know this isn't the traditional idea of a 'key,' but I thought it would be a great example of another type of key. I like the balance of masculine and feminine elements that this has going on (the floral back and the key itself). Old typewriters are so neat. I like the vintage-ness and that the key is re-purposed! It's also adjustable, so there is no need to worry about finding the correct size or needing a little extra room for those days when your fingers decide to swell.
That's all I have for you this week! I truly hope you've enjoyed this key-themed version of Weekly Wednesday. I'm adding all of these to my want list! haha. If you have any suggestions for upcoming editions, please feel free to drop me a line in the comments! Now, head over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!
