Hello, my lovelies! Are you ready for another round of Weekly Wednesday! This week I've decided go with a theme based on the movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel. If you haven't seen it, YOU NEED TO!! It is awesome. It's directed by Wes Anderson who also directed The Darjeeling Limited, The Royal, Tennenbaums, and Moonrise Kingdom--just to name a few. Enjoy!
Item #1 is from KeyTagsRUSdotcom
This neat little key tag has the location of the hotel (in the movie) on one side and a quote from Mr. Gustav H. himself on the other. I can only imagine having to say the name over and over like the characters did in the movie...such a mouthful! Grab yourself one of these to corral all your keys!
Item #2 is from CrimsonPins
I WANT!! I swear, this thing looks good enough to eat! It's absolutely gorgeous in the movie just as it is here. Definitely a pretty pastry. I really like how the maker used a pink hoop for this...makes it pop even more! If you like pastries (even if you're not a Grand Budapest fan), you need this one.
Item #3 is from TheGinFox
I love this! Gustav H. got so frusatrated, be just spouted out this obscenity. If you're not a fan of this one, there are two other options to choose from, but I, personally, think this is the best one. A little bit risque for some, but still perfect for those of us who curse like sailors. Gustav H. had an impeccable use of words and phrases, and this is one of the few times he just lost it, and it's absolutely perfect!
Item #4 is from bychrissy
Here is a neat jewelry trinket that I was able to find through all my browsing. I'll have to say that it looks almost like the exact necklace the actress wore in the film! Instead of the pendant being made from ceramic, it's made from wood and hand-painted with the design...it's impeccable! It comes in a nice "Mendl's" box wrapped with turquoise ribbon (just like the courtesan au chocolat did in the movie). I'd have to keep the box and display it somewhere because it is so so cute.
Item #5 is from bywilzzie
I'll have to say...watercolor is definitely growing on me. I guess I never really gave it much attention, but in the past several years, I've grown to appreciate it more and more. This watercolor postcard of the facade of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The detail is exquisite for watercolor--it tends to bleed, but this is perfect. On the back there is a quote from the movie and the standard postcard backing. I think this would be perfect for a fan or just for dropping a line. I personally could see this one on my cork board of eclectic finds! (Great framing by the maker, too!)
That's all for this week, everyone. I hope you've enjoyed this edition of Weekly Wednesday and will return again next time for more fabulous finds! Now head on over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!
Until next time,
