Hello, hello, everyone! How is it going? can you believe we're already into the second week of November?? This year is passing by so quickly. Today, I thought I'd do a post about some of my favorite items for a beautiful Thanksgiving table scape. Make it pretty! Don't just go with the paper plates--they're definitely the best options for left overs and little ones though! How you decorate your table is going to be memory that your guests and children remember for pretty much the rest of their lives (primarily the children) and shows them how to prepare as well. I've decided to do a jewel-toned theme for this post, but there are so many more styles out there that you can emulate! Enjoy!
Item #1 is from TeaMoDecor
I really love how simple and elegant this dish is! The crisp white color of the dish really makes the writing and the drawing pop. I honestly like this much better than ones that have the turkeys all over them...hahaha. Actually, I don't even like to eat turkey...it just tastes a bit too "birdy." Maybe I just haven't had it cooked the right way. With this dish it easily reminds your to be thankful...I could even see this being used as a everyday dish because we really need to be thankful every day and not only on Thanksgiving. You can grab this plate in one of two sizes--10 inches or 12 inches. I'd probably go with the smaller size just to try to avoid the after lunch/dinner coma.
Item #2 is from JemmaHomeDecor
I'm absolutely loving this table cloth! It's so colorful! (plus, it's fall colors at that!) The fabric is block-printed with traditional Indian floral motifs and a colorful border. I've always thought it would be fun to do block printing, but I never seem to have enough time to do it! This would be a great way to add some color to your kitchen or other eating area in addition to making your dishes pop! You do have a choice of two sizes--59x98 inches and 59x138 inches--to accommodate differences in table sizes.
Item #3 is from SandSnowLinen
Since I'm trying to create tablescape out of the items today, I looked and looked and looked for the perfect green placemats...I'm not even kidding you; it took three days! I had to hold out hope that the perfect green existed on Etsy (can you tell I'm OCD?). This listing is for a placemat and a napkin that are made from linen. Linen itself is a very breathable fabric and dries fairly quickly. It will also give you a sense of simplicity as it is a very natural, organic material.
Item #4 is from Sur La Table
I looked around on etsy, but could not find what I was looking for in goblets, so I had to branch out and check some of my other favorite stores. These goblets look like they are antique, but they actually aren't and don't come with the antique price tag (if you've ever been dragged around by your mom and grandmother, you know the prices I'm talking about!) For $60, you can get a set of 4 of these lovely glasses. (Antique would run you around $30 PER glass). I wanted to find amber-colored glasses because I thought that they would provide a nice contrast to the table cloth and place mats. I really like the detail on them too ;)
Item #5 is from UnconventionalJ
I know most people don't do place card holders, but I thought, "why not?" These were just too cute not to think about putting on a Thanksgiving table. Yes, I know they aren't turkeys but I think they would do just fine. This one looks so proud of itself! I think the option for the wire holder would be the best instead of the slit--you can probably see the card better if it's up higher.
Item #6 is from HeartSetOnPilgrimage
I;ll have to say that my favorite part of thanksgiving (outside mashed potatoes) is dessert. I really try to eat healthy, but I do have a sweet tooth (at home in the evening, you can find me with a bag of candy corn or jelly beans). I love me some pecan pie! These forks would be a very neat detail to add to your Thanksgiving mix. These pieces of silverware are repurposed and are living their new life as gorgeous pie forks.
Item #7 is from WhiskeyWicks
For Thanksgiving you definitely want to have the smell of Fall around, so this candle would be perfect! I love the wood wick--it's a neat idea. It crackles too, so you can imagine yourself around the campfire. Soy candles are something that I definitely recommend because they don't put out a huge amount of soot from the wick burning. When I was younger, my dad put a candle that was not soy wax right next to the wall, and soot was all up above where the soot was coming off---it was a MESS. Another great thing about soy wax is that the candle burns longer. Anyone else hate it when a yummy candle doesn't last? Grab a soy one!
Item #8 is from QueenBeeWreath
I think that this flower arrangement would look really pretty on a Thanksgiving table...especially with the table cloth above. The container is really rustic, cute, and really makes the color of the bittersweet branches pop. I think this one actually sold before I could get this posted, but the florist has other unique items available for your consideration.
Item #9 is from Londongardentrading
Geometric everything is in these days, and, really, who cannot not love these neat votive holders??! I feel like they have a very unique, rustic, modern vibe all at the same time. Is that even a thing?? If not, I'm making it one! I'm in love with the dark copper/bronze color, too. It's a gorgeous combo. These are really made for tealights, since an actual votive will not fit. One of the glass panels has been left out for easy insertion and removal. These will be a great addition to your home decor because you can use them all year round and for a variety of occasions!
Item #10 is from RocksmithConcrete
If you like to drink a little vino with your meal, you obviously need some way to keep it cold, right? This concrete chiller is perfect for that! (Seriously, my fiance bought one, and it does work!). I've had a thing for all things concrete here lately. I think it's the texture (both visual and tactile) that initially draws me to it. You've got to admit these are pretty. You do get a choice as to the color (white, natural, or light gray), but I really love the natural concrete color. This will be great for wine drinkers and non-drinkers alike as you can put a bottle of your favorite wine, cider, or sparkling juice inside and chill it to the perfect temperature.
That's all I have for you this week, my lovelies! I hope you've enjoyed this Thanksgiving tablescape round-up. I know there are a lot of styles out there as well as traditions, so decorate base on those things! Make it special and memorable, and I'm sure you will be pleased and remember this Thanksgiving for years to come! Now, make sure to head on over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!

Boo! Viewer beware, you're in for a scare! (Remember that, Goosebumps TV show fans?) Maybe I'm showing my age a little bit there. Anyway It's that time of year! Have you started getting your Halloween decor put up??!! If you haven't, you really should get moving on that one because it will be here sooner than you realize. I'll have to say that my favorite type of Halloween decor is a unique combination of steampunk, victorian, and folk art styles---I told you it was unique, didn't I? Combined, the decorations are enough to make you feel safe, but yet you have that feeling in the pit of your stomach that something creepy is afoot. Now, don't get me wrong, I do love it all! Those are just my favorites :) Get your scare on and find yourself some amazing decorations!
Item #1 is from prarieantiques
Alright. These are the most realistic fake fingers that I have ever seen. They're definitely good for adding a scare. These can be used in your wax/tart warmer because they are scented. You have many scents to choose from as well. I'd probably go with the fall or Halloween scents since having these out past Halloween might really raise some eyebrows since they do look so realistic..haha.
Item #2 is from Cre8orsTouch
This is a decoration that fits very well into my Halloween style--the Victorian, steampunk, folk art mix. A lot of the stuff I like is made from paper mache, and this marionette-styled cat is no different. Yes, a marionette...sometime those are just creepy in and of themselves (this is similar to a marionette, but without the strings). I think this one is cute, but still a bit creepy. I'm also loving the vintage/primitive look. The way this was created allows you to pose it to a certain extent, and the head rotates--perfect for making guests feel uneasy.
Item #3 is from WreathStreetFloral
When people come to the door you want something that looks pretty and also shows you're a fan of Halloween. I think this one will do the trick! This wreath is a combination of purple hydrangeas, hydrangea leaves and other greens, skulls, and skull hands on top of a grape vine wreath. At the top is a cotton crushed black ribbon. It looks very Halloween-ish to me!
Item #4 is from DearHenryDesign
If you're sending out invitations to your Halloween party, I think these would be an awesome choice! They are created to be like the toe tags you often seen in morgues--they even have a little blood stain on the corner. They are completely personalized with a cause of death and everything. If these don't start giving your guests the creeps, I don't know what will.
Item #5 is from OrangeJarArt
I have no idea where I think I've seen these before, but I'll have to say that seeing them randomly distributed would freak me out a bit. It would be awesome if they blinked! You'd definitely get some screams going, then! The eyes are crafted from polymer clay (this stuff can be difficult to work with if your do not know what you're doing, so I probably would go a little nuts fooling with the stuff) and then handpainted to look old and dirty. Check out the listing for some ways to incorporate these into your decorations.
Item #6 is from UnearthedSalvage
I saw this and originally thought it was actually intended as a piece of Halloween decor. Nope. It's a real dental model--I guess I'm in Halloween mode now. They're actually dentistry students' models from 2006. It's very neat, and actually looks vintage. Now, I'm wondering where the old molds of my teeth before braces are...hmmm.
Item #7 is from Thebatinthehat
A lot of people I've known hate these things. I've played with one, I'll admit it. They are a bit creepy especially if you've seen the movie Ouija (check that out by clicking the movie title). A lot of the stories I've heard deal with not being able to get rid of the board no matter what you did to it. You could burn it, toss it in a river, but it was always waiting for you somewhere. This candle is the lettering of the board. It's 7 inches tall and has no scent. I think it would be a nice piece to keep the guests at your party feeling uneasy.
Item #8 is from frighten
I'm going to tell you right now that I really and freaked out by nuns. No, I didn't go to Catholic school. I just watched one of The Conjuring movies. See below:
Now that I've officially scared the ever loving shit out of myself by looking at these videos, you can possibly get the benefit of scaring your friends and family. I saw the listing on Etsy and mumbled to myself, "aw hell no," because the picture is just creepy and reminded me of the movie. Get a picture like the one above and frame it...in a Victorian picture frame...that'll leave them screaming and completely creeped out.
Item # 9 is from masonjardecor
How about these awesome apothecary-inspired bottles? They're pretty neat, right? You get the labelled bottles, lids, and labels. You can actually use them to hold adult beverages or you can fill with with water and food coloring for a decorative look. Pick your poison wisely---unruly spirits, troubled waters, or embalming fluid.
Item #10 is from RaggedyRee
I've always liked hourglasses, but they always make me feel like time is running out---and that's the point for further making your guests creeped out. Also included in this listing is a clock that was once a prop. Together, the two really get the point across about time running out. Make sure to put it where you're guests will constantly see it!
Item #11 is from Lot450Shop
Here we have a red Halloween/Fall candle. It looks like a blood candle, but it's really just a blood red soy candle with a wood wick. You can get it unscented or in a spiced cider scent. What drew me to this was how deep of a red the wax was and because of the fake blood the maker put on the side--awesome idea!
Item #12 is from 3Ddreaming
To turn on the lights, you'll have to throw the switch. I really think this is a neat idea, and I've not seen them anywhere else. You can get these for single and double switches, and the base can be chosen to be white. I personally like the gray the best...it's darker and more sinister. My only issue is that I would probably be terribly lazy and just leave it up..haha (the doormat and lights around the door from last year are still there).
For those of you who want to get your DIY on, I've found some cool tutorials for you
#1 This is an underground cell that has been made from reclaimed wood. The lights make it extra creepy.
#2 Try this Candy Corn party mix...It's delish; I've made it for the last two years.
#3 Barfing Pumpkin chip tray--Blue Corn tortilla chips, guacamole, and a carved pumkin.
That's all I have for you today my spooks! I hope you've enjoyed this Horror-filled Halloween Edition of this week's favorites. I know I've gotten several ideas for decor and for DIY. Let me know if you like the DIY inclusion and your favorite Halloween items/ DIYs in the comments below :) Now, head on over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists so love!

Hello, again, everyone! Guess what day it is? It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another roundup of some of my favorite Etsy items! This week I went with a macrame theme because it's been making a comeback recently and there are a large number of items out there that are gorgeous. Enjoy!
Item #1 is from SophiesWhatKnots
If you don't have a lot of space around your home for plant stands and such. These macrame plant hangers might be something you should look into! You just get your potted plant and plop it right into the macrame wall hanging. Enjoy your plants indoors if you've got allergies or if it's to darn hot outside!
Item #2 is from MandalaTropical
I almost didn't search for macrame jewelry because I honestly thought there wouldn't be any---boy was I wrong! The first piece of macrame jewelry I found was this pair of hoop earrings. I wouldn't have the patience to do this--it'd drive me crazy! The hoops a a nice detailed design that is complimented by the macramed (is this even a word?) bottom. You've got two options: this one and then one that more of a curved point. Both are really pretty and would definitely be a statement piece. Have a specific color you'd like--you've got 22 color options!
Item #3 is from TangledPretty
I like how simple this wall hanging is---not that it's easy to do, but that the pattern is calm and not a wildly detailed one. It's got a nice minimal vibe to it. It has what looks to be driftwood as the main anchoring piece for the macrame portion, which adds to the bohemian flair of the product. . It's also a good size for a statement piece in your home or work area--18 inches x 26 inches.
Item #4 is from LeahNoelDesign
I really, really, like this necklace! I just love it so much! It was the second piece of jewelry to catch my eye...no it may have been the first but I don't remember. I like the combination of colors--very soft but still very powerful with the navy blue. The balance and texture are great, too. Even though the colors are different shapes and used in different amounts, they do so well together. If you look closely, you'll see some mint-colored beads running at a diagonal on the piece. They add a bit of a pop of unexpected color that really compliments the others. The size is nice too--not to big or too small (very Goldilocks)--3.25 inches long including the fringe and 3 inches wide. If you're into boho or even if you're not, you NEED this! I NEED this!
Item #5 is from ColeFineArt
This is another piece that I need in my life right now...this gorgeous macrame dream catcher! The color and texture are very well-balanced. The black ribbon and the dark color of the hoop really make the white pop. The use of texture in this piece is extraordinary--you've got the center of the dream catcher, the many different types of ribbon, a feather, and the smooth hoop. I really like the pom-pom fringe :) Get this to catch all the nightmares and have only sweet dreams.
That's all I have for you this week my lovelies! I really hope you've enjoyed this week's items! I thought I'd come up with a theme and find products that matched it in some unique way that you normally wouldn't think of (like Inspire Me Fridays--check those out if you haven't). Now, head on over to your favorite handmade site, shop, and show some artists some love!
Until next time,

Hello, everyone! It's Wednesday, and that means I've been browsing through Etsy to show you some of my favorite items! This week I thought it'd be awesome to do a post of a variety of things that sparkle. Now, I'm not really a girly-girl--(you'll usually find me in stretch pants, messing around with power tools for my crafts, etc)--I've got some rough edges..haha. Enjoy this week's roundup :)
Item #1 is from MissVioletLace
Unicorns are all the rage today and in recent months--maybe because of their mystical nature, their uniqueness. This is a shimmer water that illuminates the skin. It also has a sweet scent and is made with organic extracts. Its purple color comes from purple carrot extract and spirulina. With this your skin will be soft and sparkly like that of a unicorn's magic horn.
Item #2 is from HandmadebyTN
I am loving the idea of a glittery phone case on a rose gold iphone. The red and gold glitter on this case is a combination of both fine and chunky glitter. I'll have to say I like the chunky glitter--maybe because it's impossible to clean up the fine glitter. The chunky glitter definitely adds some more visual interest. The case is a gel bumper which allows it to flex to put on and for easy removal. I like the flexible kind because I always feel like I'm going to break the non-flexible ones! The glitter on the case does not move from where it is pictured. The case and glitter have been sealed to prevent any loss of sparkle.
Item #3 is from waterwaif
Even if these are faux druzy earrings, they are still gorgeous! They are acrylic, so they're light weight, and the posts are stainless steel--no allergies! I love how sparkly they are, and I'm sure that they catch the light very well. They'd be perfect for topping off an outfit.
Item #4 is from VowWowDecor
What a better way to add a little sparkle to your house that a sequin pillow! It would definitely add a little more happy to your space just like the listing says! I'm totally loving this champagne blush color, but if you want something different, this pillow cover comes in a number of colors--34 to be exact (I think I counted the list correctly..haha). You also get sequins on both sides of the pillow case; it's definitely a plus considering you usually only get one side with the design on most things nowadays.
Item #5 is from Eternity31
I think this set of earrings is pretty neat. Part of them is glittered, and part is not--it's something a little bit different, and I like it. The part that doesn't have the gold foil has a nice sparkle to it. This set would be great to wear to a number of occasions and, really, you could wear them daily.
Item #5 is from SimplyPRINTly
I love having little bags like this around! I probably would think of this bag as more for containing jewelry when you're travelling, but I think it would also work well for makeup or other little items you'd want to keep together whether for travel or for everyday things. It's made out of canvas material, so it is definitely durable. On the inside is a silky lining. If you'd like a different color fabric, you have a choice of black, white, and beige--Personally, I think the beige would be the best because you'd be able to see most colors on it and it would not get dirty as quickly as the white would. Life gets messy sometimes, and it's best to be prepared.
Item #7 is from LindseyDecor
I think this little dish is so cute! You always need little dishes around the house to put something even if it's just for holding your rings when you're washing your hands. I really like the quote on it--very appropriate for jewelry, but not specifically for jewelry only ;) This would be a great gift for a variety of occasions and something most ladies would love.
Item #8 is from BossStudiosJewelry
I'm loving how understated and gorgeous this ring is! For most cases, less it more. Each of the glittering spots are actually where the metal was burnished. Burnished means that the areas were polished to create a shiny finish. When I first looked at the ring, I really thought the spots were little diamonds. I really like that the majority of the ring is a matte finish, which allows for the shiny spots--I think that's what makes this ring stand out.
That's all I have for you this week on this super-sparkly Wednesday! I hope you have enjoyed looking through all the items and gotten some ideas for things you might want or might give to someone else. Now, make sure to head on over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love! (If you have any ideas for an upcoming Weekly Wednesday, please feel free to drop me a line in the comments!)

Hello, Hello, everyone! It time for another Weekly Wednesday here at the Prickly Pear Boutique! As I'm sure you've all noticed by now, Spring is here! If it hasn't made it's way to you, I hope it gets there soon! It's been either really nice or really rainy here recently (I prefer the sunny weather, but oh well). With spring what do you normally associate with it? Flowers, rain, blooming? What about bees? Yes! Bees are definitely something you see in spring! This week, I decided on--you guessed it--a bee themed roundup. Enjoy!
Item #1 is from thewrappedpixie
You all know I'ma huge fan of stacking rings. This set is no different! This is a set of 5 rings--two are hammered, two are twig barked, and the last one is the bee ring. The use of the different textures definitely adds to the piece because of the visual interest. You can wear all 5 at the same time or you can mix and match from this and other sets!
Item #2 is from RSVPhandcrafted
I saw these and thought they were awesome! They are personalized leather coasters with a bee on them. The shape is very unique...Most coasters are round. You can personalize your coasters from the stain, the text, and the stamp. I really like the bee stamp with the shape of the coasters...I think the two go very well together.
Item # 3 is from NestPrettyThingsShop
I'll have to say that the way this bee looks is my absolute favorite! It's very detailed and very elegant. They are a nice size--not too big or too small--the perfect size.
Item #4 is from NoteworthyPaperPress
I love tea towels! I probably have to many...or maybe I need to toss a few that are getting raggedy (raggedy is probably the case). I love how bright these are! They will definitely add a pop of color to your kitchen. Since these are flour sack towels (love these) you can dry your crystal or glass pieces with them and not leave a lot of lint like a majority of other towels do. The detail of the bee is also very nice and shows the true bee.
Item #5 is from LunaSavita
This necklace is meant to imitate the honeycomb that bees create when they've got all of their pollen. I think that this piece is rather unique, as many makers don't tend to make things like it. I could see it becoming a very trendy piece, and an even larger honeycomb piece would make an awesome statement pendant!
Item #6 is from PlantablesLLC
Since bees are starting to become endangered, I feel like we really need to do our part (now more than ever) to do what we can to help save the bees. Most bees are attracted to certain wildflowers, so planting as many as we can would presumably help. I love that the makers of these bee bombs have regional specific bombs! You want to grow what the bees like in your area (plus, the weather can kill what's not acclimated to your growing region. With these seed bombs, you don't have to plant anything. you simply toss the bomb out to where you want to see pretty wildflowers :) The clay in the bomb protects the seeds from being eaten by hungry birds or other animals, while the compost contained within provides the nourishment the seeds need to grow! I've been thinking of doing this to a part of my backyard since we have land and try to help with the bees.
Item #7 is from ArbotiqueDesigns
This ring just screams "Queen Bee" to me. Probably because the bee is on a crown ring! Crown rings have been very popular in recent months, but a bee tops this ring off and gives it an extra edge. It would be a great gift for a friend, your mom, or yourself.
Item #8 is from RosemarysHandMade
I love how elegant this embroidered art is! There's so much detail in this one piece! It's very rustic and it also has a French touch. If you don't like the color of the embroidery, the maker welcomes changes.Personally, I think this combination of fabric and embroidery thread is absolutely perfect.
Item #9 is from Yesternow
I saw this little ring dish with a bee on it and thought it was absolutely darling! This dish is made from porcelain, and the bee is applied with an underglaze before the firing process. I probably would use this for a jewelry dish as it would be great for those of us who need a place to corral rings and other tiny things. But wait! You don't have to specifically use this for jewelry---if you have a need for a small dish (maybe a soap dish) then this is for you!
Item #10 is from TheBonnyBoutique
Since I've posted pretty much every other type of jewelry, I thought I might should include a bracelet. This bracelet has a bee charm on a delicate gold-plated chain There is a tiny gold-colored droplet also on the bracelet that gives the illusion of honey production.
Item #11 is from PolkadotApplePillows
This honestly does scream 'French' to me. I'm not sure what it is about it--maybe the detail of the bees and the french words at the bottom. It strikes me as a very rustic French with the burlap. This pillow and insert (a definite plus when you don't have an insert around) would be great for the spring and summer times in pretty much any room of your house because you can never have enough pillows!
That's all I have for you this week, my lovelies. I couldn't narrow my favorite bee themed items down any more than this, so I hope you enjoyed your extra-special Weekly Wednesday :) It doesn't happen as often as I'd like, but I'm hoping to make it occur more frequently in the coming weeks and months. Now, make sure to head over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!
Until next time,
p.s. Please feel free to share, like, tag, pin, tweet, or comment!
Hello, everyone! It's time for another adventurous Weekly Wednesday! This week, I was struggling to com up with an idea, but I happened to see an avocado-themed item, which sparked a thought. Avocados are becoming increasingly popular, and I've seen an increase in the variety of items with the avocado theme, so I decided it might be an interesting theme. Why not? First off, let me say one thing: I absolutely do not like avocados or guacamole (eating them anyway). I do not like either here or there. I do not like them anywhere. (Sorry for the Dr. Seuss tidbit, but they're green, soooo...) I just don't like the taste--I mean, to me they taste like I'm sucking on a bottle of aloe vera or something of that nature. I did find out that I was able to tolerate them in the Fresh Mex Bowls at Chili's (I'm not being paid by Chii's in any way to promote their bowls, but I would because they're good). Although I really don't like eating them, that doesn't mean that avocado items aren't darn stinkin' cute. I'll give them that much ;) Here ya go!
Item #1 is from MilkandHoneyLuxuries
If you've ever made guacamole, you know that there's some scooping involved. It's either cut it or scoop it. It's your choice, but I think this cute little spoon would make scooping fun! The bowl of the spoon would be perfect for scooping--it like like it would be more gentle than a regular soup spoon. "I <3 avocado," is hand-stamped into the bowl, so everyone will know this spoon is for scooping avocado out of the skin or serving your guac!
Item #2 is from WoleaHandmade
This little pin (brooch) is pretty cute. It's tiny and fits inside of a bottle cap. I feel like it would look cute on a denim jacket or on a purse/messenger bag/gym bag--this type of accessory is making a huge comeback (check the fashion shows--you'll see a lot). The tiny avocado is hand embroidered onto green, olive green, brown, or gray fabric. A cute must-have!
Item #3 is from AvocadoSeedPlanter
If this doesn't scream avocado-theme, then nothing ever will! This is an avocado seed planter for those of you that are interested in growing an avocado tree. I honestly have thought about doing this since my fiancée really enjoys them. I really don't understand why, but he can eat them without any seasoning whatsoever. I figure I'd enjoy growing them. This kit includes a mason jar and the device that helps hold the avocado seed as its roots grow in the water-filled mason jar. This can be reused multiple times, but the seed is not included in this particular listing.
Item #4 is from LeshkaArt
I thought this was a really neat take on the avocado theme. It's a ring made from the avocado seed. This lovely piece of jewelry is eco-friendly and entirely hand-carved with a teeny, tiny knife. The color variances are part of the natural color of the seed and give the ring a unique look. There is a nice texture going on here as well since the artist left the outside more rough and showing the cut of the knife. Te ring has been covered in coconut oil to protect it, but it's most likely a good idea not to get it in the water---who knows, it might actually grow an avocado tree (just kidding....maybe).
Item #5 is from RockyTopSoapShop
While growing the avocado soaps, I came to realize that many makers are just using avocado oil and not the whole thing. This particular brand--Rocky Top Soap Shop--uses several avocado ingredients; it uses avocado oil, avocado butter, and real avocado purée. Just the ingredients made this one appeal to me more than all the rest. It's extra moisturizing, lathers really well, and can be used all over the body.
Item #6 is from LilliannaMarie
Don't judge me here..just look at the cuteness of this mustached avocado toy. EEEEKKK! It's just so darn cute...I may have to have it. Me! A hater of all things guacamole! I don't care about adding the bow for girliness (which you can do)--I think it's cute just the way it is!
Item #7 is from ITWScreenPrinting
I've found a piece of avocado-themed clothing for you! There are several clothing items, but I found this one to be my favorite. On the front it says, 'when life gives you avocados," with an image of an avocado and what looks to be guacamole, and on the back it says, "make guac." I really like the typography on the shirt--it has a it of vintage appeal, but I can also say it looks like the font that names on credit ares re printed with. Either way, it's cute. You can get it in white or gray and in sizes small to extra large.
Item #8 is from Suite7Seven
Now if you really want to show off your love of avocados (or maybe you just like the way they look, like me), then I think you should really check out this phone case. The designers have cases that fits several versions of the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy. I can personally sat that this shop's phone cases are awesome! The case for the iPhone 7 plus fits perfectly (and has protected my phone thus far--yes, I've dropped it several times). The one I have on my phone right now has cacti/succulents on it, and the decals have stayed on--no peeling whatsoever. My main concern was the case turning a yellowish color, but I've had it since sometime in November, and it's still perfectly clear. I definitely recommend them if you're in search of a phone case!
Item #9 is from MissMaddyMakes
I had to share this! It's just too funny, and I would love to stick my Cozie cat (CoCo) in one of these. She may not like it, but I'd definitely get a hoot out of it! There are a;was dog costumes and clothing but none fore cats, which is truly unfortunate. Let's get our fabulous felines dressed up!
Item #10 is from InrainbowsBecco
Yes, I've already shown you a stinkin' cute stuffed avocado toy, but this one was also too cute not to share! It's little face and pink cheeks are just darling. This, like the other one, is more for decoration than laying your head on, but who cares?! You can simply put it in a room or office to make the space a little more joyful and friendly.
Item #11 is from MadAboutHue
I saw this painting, and it just spoke to me and captured my attention. Even though it's a print, it still has enough visual texture to make you think it's really canvas and want to touch the brush strokes. The artist has done an impeccable job in making this painted avocado look real with the variation in the tints and shades of the hues used. This print comes already matted for an 8x10 frame.
Wow! That was a long one, huh? I found so many items that I liked that I couldn't narrow it down any further. I hope you've enjoyed this week's broadcast. Tune it next time for....I'm not sure on the theme yet..haha In the meantime, hope on over to your favorite handmade sites and show some artists some love!

Hello, everyone! It's Wednesday again. Time sure does fly when you're having fun and especially when you're a blogger trying to keep up! I think I've done a fairly good job and not going AWOL for more than two weeks, right? I don't have a lot a down time with my regular job (plus, I'm a sleeper--gotta get that rest), but never fear! Your Etsy browser doesn't give up. This week I decided it was time for a detour to some home decor! I'm in a decorating mood right now, but I usually am anyway--just a little more so at the current moment. Anyway--enough of my yabbering. Enjoy these pieces!
Item #1 is from GotWoodWorkshop
I think these chevrons are a really neat piece. They're minimal, but the wood grain adds a nice detail to them. The maker pays close attention so the grain matches up and is centered, ensuring a smooth transition between sides. Worried about the color? Don't be! You have a choice of 5 equally beautiful colors! You can can the arrows pointing up, down, left, or right, so make sure to specify at check out.
Item #2 is from BurlgirlCreations
This unique piece would be awesome in any house near a beach, lake, or lush country regions with its vibes of water and life. The naturally twisted driftwood has been arranged in a sunburst pattern for you visual enjoyment! It's a large piece, so it will definitely e the focal point in the room and will create a nice calm mood.
Item #3 is from CABFinePaperworks
I love this piece of art because I've never seen anything quite like it! The detail is just extraordinary! It's very similar to an elevation map, but in much better detail and it's 3-D. The artist behind this piece hand-cut each level of cardstock for the design and encased it in a shadow box frame with UV glass (to protect the color).
Item #4 is from 234Woodworking
You know I couldn't do a wall art post without something that was upcycled, right? This piece is created from scraps of pallet wood and stained to create the variance between the two mountain ranges--awesome idea! Micro-LEDs are placed ad back lights and are powered by batteries. I feel like this piece would be great for those that love the outdoors or live in mountainous areas as well as those of us who need to add a little classiness to our Netflix binges!
Item #5 is from ArtGlamourSligo
Let me just say, I'm in love with this one! I love the color combination. The color and the use of line are so pleasing to the eye. Very intricately detailed! This piece is made from recycled wood pieces (another plus!) that are sanded and dyed/painted and is sealed with a matte varnish. Oh how I love matte finishes! It would make for a perfect focal piece on a wall in any room of your home. It comes in three sizes, and the colors can be customized to your liking. If I had the cash, I know I would be purchasing this one for my home!
Item #6 is from RusticWarmthDecor
I love the blues in this piece! The wood for this piece is yet again reclaimed--I'm on a roll with this aspect! In all seriousness, though ,I really like reclaimed pieces because it's using something that would otherwise be discarded and lead to further wastefulness--it allows for and strengthens creativity in a designer. I can't tell if the pieces are all level or are different heights, but I really think that adds to the character of the piece. The blue and white portions are fabric collages--how neat?
That's all I have for you this wee, my pretties! I hope you've enjoyed the detour today. I love sharing home stuff in addition to jewelry and fashion. This is somewhat of a lifestyle blog, so why not? It's part of growing and shaping it. I feel like etsy has so many beautiful things that I just can't share from only one area!
Have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend and make sure to head over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!

Hello, everyone! It's time for another Weekly Wednesday, and this week it's a Christmas theme!! Que bells and Christmas music. We're just a short couple of weeks away from this wonderful holiday, so I hope you all have your decorations out and ready...if not I've got some ideas for you!
Item #1 is from eugenie2
I love how big these stockings are. No, you wouldn't have to fill them up completely....make it like a hunt for the gifts. The fair isle print is another thing I'm loving recently. I didn't use to be a huge fan of it, but it definitely has grown on me. There are several design options/combinations available and embroidery is free!
Item #2 is from JolieMarche
It's so neat how the pillow cover has a stamp in the corner! I love that it's not a cartoon print and is a more natural picture of the Christmas tree. I feel like it makes it have a more classic look to it. There are no zippers to this baby...just an envelope closer, and it comes in three separate sizes....the pillow form is not included, but there is a link to where one can be purchased.
Item #3 is from GFTWoodcraft
These are so dogon cute!! These little Santas come in a set of 6, 8, 10, or 12 and are a variety of shapes and sizes. The faces are hand painted and are cut from hardwood branches. These would definitely be cute to have staring at you on Christmas morning as you open your gifts!
Item #4 is from GoldenDropGarlands
I must be living under a rock because I have never reakky seen this lovely garland! I'm liking it a freaking lot! The texture just looks amazin. The balls are made of sheep's wool and are about an inch in diameter. Another great thing about these is that there is a loop on the ends that allow you to hang the garland from nails....and (since there are no knots tied) you can space them out a bit for your own unique look! I may have to get some of these just as an everyday decoration...haha.
Item #5 is from MadeInBurlap
If you're like me and don't have a tree skirt, this is a very elegant one that would go great udner any tree. Before Christmas my cat always lays under the tree and continues to do so after the gifts are there...it's a cat thing... ;) And if your kitty is white then you're in luck! This skirt is white with an oatmeal pom pom trim and a ruffled burlap edge. I think the combination of colors is perfect and really represents the whole idea of rustic.
Thats all I have for you this week my lovely readers! I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did browsing Etsy. The year is almost over...can you believe it?!?!? It's gone by so fast. Before you head off, drop me a line in the comments about what you'd like to see for the new year on the blog! Yep, it's time for new starts and revamping---I welcome your ideas! Now, head over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!
p.s. Feel free to tag, share, like, pin, or tweet!
Hello, everyone! It's that time again! Are you ready for a brand new Weekly Wednesday? This week I thought it would be interesting to feature some items that were cacti or succulent related (I think they're the same thing though). I've been seeing them more and more on Etsy in my browsings so their popularity is growing, and I've gotten to where I like them more and more the more I see them. (I once had a cactus, but it died :( I think my dad had something to do with that because he flooded it with water one day....) I've included several items from a variety of categories to create a nice large set of cacti and succulent goodies so you can get your day's dose of them.
Item #1 is from omorfigia
Aren't these little magnets cute?! I think they'd really look good on any refrigerator but especially on the matte black one. These add a little more interest that your usual clip magnets and they use repurposed wine corks. I'm all about repurposed stuff. I've got my share of wine corks sitting in the kitchen waiting for a project. And guess what!? These succulents are alive! Yep, just make sure they get moderate light and a spray of water every week. Bet you can't saw you ever had magnets that were alive!
Item #2 is from thevysherbarium
I love canvas bags. They really hold up, you can take them anywhere, and you never have enough bags. This canvas is 100% cotton and the inks are eco-friendly and non-toxic. Eco-friendy, non-toxic, and organic---all are great things to have in a product. The design itself is a watercolor drawing done by the maker. I really like the color pallet that was picked because it's really soothing with a small pop of color.
Item #3 is from HoneyThistle
I couldn't go without featuring this cute prickly pear necklace, now could I? It's in my name! It has a real but cartoonish look to it and I love it! The maker created this piece out of raw brass and added a protective layer of wax on top to help retain the shine and prevent oxidation. It's also hand stamped, so you might get a little variation between the picture and your necklace. I think it'd be a nice detail to add to your outfit. I may have to get it for one of my shows...you now..represent The Prickly Pear ;)
Item #4 is from TroisFenetres
I bet you all thought I'd get through this post without a clothing item. You were wrong There aren't a large number of clothing items with cacti and succulents, but there are several to choose from. I love how this shirt has a round, boatneck and larger sleeves. It's different than the normal t-shirt or women's shaped t-shirt and I like that about it. The design itself is just neat. The fabric is jersey so you're going to get a softer shirt that drapes and lets you be comfortable (and we all want to be comfortable). If black isn't your favorite color (or if you have a white cat) it also comes in orange and mint.
Item #5 is from sawandsteel
Another trend that's been around a year or so is marquee letters and signs/shapes. Now, I've seen a lot of marquee items, but I've never seen a cactus! I think it's unique and really cute. The makers creates these out of steel, so it is completely customizable as far as size, color, and finish go. This particular listing is for one 24 inches tall, so it's a pretty good size. I don't think I'd go any larger (who knows though, I might), but I definitely could see a small one. Another good thing about this is that it can stand on it's own or be hung up on the wall. There are a number of places you could display this, and it definitely would add character to any room!
Item #6 is from TheCuriousCactus
Oh, lookie here! Succulent earrings! These are just plain cute and different from the flower earrings you usually see. The maker created these out of polymer clay and sealed them. I am no sculptor, so having the patience to do this is amazing. The posts are sterling silver, so there is no need to worry about allergic reactions with these. Make sure to check out the shop for more cute stuff!
Item #7 is from LittleFlossStudio
This is embroidery is just cute. I love it! You've got both cacti and succulents, so there's no need to choose! It's the best of both worlds.I love the variety of colors used and the variety of cacti/succulents. There are prickly ones and smooth ones, so there's a definite balance. It's something cute to add a finishing touch to your home!
Item #8 is from SewLovedYou
Come, on. Admit it. We can never have enough zipper pouches. I like to have certain things separated in my travel bag...ex: first aid stuff in one, makeup in another, another one for miscellaneous items... This lovely little bag is a very nice size at 7-1/4 inches wide X 5-1/2 inches tall and has interfacing that makes it sturdier and more durable. The inside is lined with the same teal material that is on the outside--I always hate it when a bag is cute on the outside and when I open the zipper, it's just plain--you've got to have that color to spice it up a bit. They have lots of prints, so make sure to check out their shop!
Item #9 is from Suite7Seven
Now you can take your love of cacti and succulents with you everywhere you go! Take them to work, out to dinner, or maybe just to the bathroom...hey we all take our phones with us to the bathroom and spend inordinate amounts of time in there...don't try to deny it. Sometimes you want some personality for your phone and others you just want the plain sleek look of the phone itself. This will definitely add personality and is available for several phone types!
Item #10 is from xxxRedStitcHxxx
The potholders are freakin' adorable. I'm in love! I'm a huge fan of kitchen stuff that's just plain different and these are different. They would add personality and whimsy to your cooking space, not to mention being a conversation piece. I started looking through the shop and I went nuts because I loved all of the things so much. If these were in a store in Amsterdam when I go in....43-ish days..I would so buy them without a second thought!
This is usually the spot where I sign off, but I found so many unique items in my browsings that I wanted to at least post them all, so what I'm going to do is post the link to the shop and a picture of the item (with a link on the picture itself). Also these are in no particular order of how much I liked them ;) With that said, enjoy the next few items and make sure to stop by your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!
Hello, hello, everyone! I've got a treat for you today! Yes, it is another Weekly Wednesday, but this time I've got more stuff for you :) This week, I thought a good theme would be "rose gold." I've seen a lot of it in my browsing, and it's grown on me to the point where my new phone (first upgrade since the 5C) is going to be rose gold. It adds more interest than the ordinary silver and yellow gold in my opinion. You might be thinking, "but it's only in jewelry." I have news my friends. It's not limited to jewelry! I've found some awesome items from a variety of categories. Shall we begin?
Item #1 is from DavieandChiyo
Now, I'm normally not a fan of sequined things, but I think paired with a non-sequined piece, it's something very classy that every lady needs to have in her wardrobe. If you and your handsome man or your group of girlfriends are going out after work or on the weekend, you aren't going to want to carry something that's like a bag of bricks, right? This clutch would be perfect for a night out. Just take what you absolutely need--ID, debit/credit card, insurance card (if you're a klutz like me), lipstick, and keys. This beauty comes in two sizes -petite and classic, and you have the option to customize is you would like. I think this is perfect the way it is, but the option is there nonetheless. If sequins aren't your thing, they have plenty of gorgeous clutches in their shop. Grab one now so you cans step out in style on your next night out!
Item #2 is from HarlieandCo
How many pillows is enough? THERE ARE NEVER ENOUGH PILLOWS!!! This is a geometric rose gold pillow cover. Got a pillow you want to change? Just pop this baby on and you're good to go! What's great about pillow covers is that if you get something on them, all you have to do is pull them off and through them in to wash--you don't have to worry if your going to have a misshapen pillow after throwing the entire thing in, because no one wants a lumpy pillow. There's a lot of detail but it's still very minimal and very tasteful. Not a fan of triangles? They have some other options in the shop that are nice as well!
Item #3 is from AshleeVictoriaDesign
I'm sure you've seen a lot of large letters and symbols like this one lately.. They're very trendy right now, and I'm sure they'll continue to be so for a while. This is a simple ampersand that's rose gold in color. You can use it like the picture (as a table piece) or hang it on your wall with a gallery of your favorite photos! The options are limitless.
Item #4 is from OhSoRelevantDesign
Geometrical terrariums are something that have come onto the scene recently, and they are great for adding visual interest to your space. You decide what you want to put inside or what you want to use it for. It doesn't have to be a terarrium--add white string lights for a nice subtle light piece, add sand for a zen garden (or neon sand as the maker suggests), add a candle for a candle holder, use it as a place to catch your rings at the end of the day, or use it to catch your keys so you don't lose them (I always misplace them, just ask my boyfriend). Whatever you decide to use it for, it will definite be a great living area addition!
Item #5 is from Borcik
These little lovelies are just gorgeous in my opinion. You get sparkle, a little color, and a minimal design. They aren't huge, so they won't weigh your ears down. Definitely great for wearing with any outfit--dress it up or down. Druzy jewelry is very popular in the jewelry world so you won't have to worry about being out of style. I don't think you could ever be out of style with these babies. I'm having to resist purchasing, but I REALLY want them...they're just too pretty (maybe later though..haha). Make sure to check out the shop!
Item #6 is from LaLueurCandles
Ok, anyone not like candles? I didn't think so. This soy candle has been poured into a rose gold glass container with a double wick. You definitely want to get it to burn evenly, so two wicks is optimum. I like soy candles because they burn cleaner--you don't get the excess ash--and they last longer (this one has a burn time of 55+ hours). Do you like certain scents? There are many scents that you can choose from---amber vanilla, eucalyptus mint, cinnamon buns, etc.--to make this candle one of your favorites. And you can repurpose the lovely glass container after you finish burning the candle!!
Item #7 is from EmbersJewelleryShop
Here we've got a very pretty bangle. It's simple yet elegant and has a nice texture. The stones are semi-precious white faceted topaz that are hand-set into the bangle. You can literrally wear this with anything--casual or professional. Use it to dress up or dress down an outfit--it's totally up to you!
Item #8 is from thedancingoctopusshop
Enter the office suppy realm! You all know I have a thing for office supplies (I'll have to takea picture of all of the notepads I have sometime), and push pins are another favorite of mine. I don't have a large amount of them because, you know---cat (pulls out pins and spits them out), push pins don't mix. Right now I have natural wood ones that are in a jar that has a kitty-proof lid. These are very classy and unique...Don't have time for the gold or silver ones--gimme the unique schtuff. If you like having a variety to choose from, these come in packs of 12, so you won't have a ton of them on hand--just enough to ease your office supply addiction.
Item #9 is from ChinChinsBoutique
These lovely jacket earrings are a perfect combination of feminine and edgy. They're something different that not everyone is going to have. Personally, I've never seen any like this, so they definitely would be a unique add to your jewelry box. They are lightweight, so you don't have to worry about them weighing your ears down. Definitely get your edgy on with these without being too edgy ;)
Item #10 is from JamboreePartyBox
I bet you never really would've thought about straws! Yes, there are rose gold foil straws! I think these are definitely neat and a nice touch to any drink. I'll have to saw that I'm a fan of paper straws for some reason---maybe it's because I love paper; maybe it's because I like the thickness of them (sometimes those plastic ones are so thin they break immediately). These straws come in multiple patterns, so you have a variety, and they can come with little flags if you wish. Lots of cool straws here!
That's all I have for you all today my friends! I hope you've enjoyed this rose gold-themed edition of Weekly Wednesday and the extra items. I'll be back next week (hopefully) with something brand new. Now head over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!
Until next time,
p.s. Feel free to share, like, pin, etc :)
Hi! I’m Meagan, designer for The Prickly Pear. I’ve created this blog to not only showcase my work and other crafty information, but also to give you an inside look into my life.
