Hello, everyone! It's time for our Weekly Wednesday round up once again, and I have something a little different in store for you. Since Fall is definitely in the air, this week's theme is going to be pumpkins! Not only will I feature jewelry, but I will also feature a wider array of pumpkin-themed products! Pumpkins are a constant throughout the season, so I thought, "what better than pumpkins represents Fall?" Nothing! So, let's jump right on in!
Item #1 is from NevadaKnits
This pumpkin is just too cute! This pumpkin is a hand knitted and stuffed decoration that would be a great addition to your fall decorations. There are two other colors that you can choose from if orange isn't your favorite color--chocolate brown and rustic wheat. Whatever color you choose, I'm sure you will be pleased, and if you can't choose maybe you'd like the small ones below--they're super cute, too.
Item #2 is from CraftQuality
Now, this is a different take on the pumkpin! It's a pumpkin made out of mason jar lids. I love the creativity of these. I actually made one myself a couple of years ago and used some gears I had for the leaves and stem. I really like the different colors of the lids--they give it something that makes it a little different and allow the pumpkin to fit into a variety of decor styles.
Item #3 is from TheSaviDesign
I love mugs, but this mug is quite unique. I really like the speckled base of it. It's actually called a campfire mug, but I'm sure you could use it for more than just camping. You can use it all year round to say, "Morning, Pumpkin," to the world. What's better than a cup or hot chocolate, coffee, or a pumpkin spice latte on a fall morning?
Item #4 is from MasonandWax
This one is for all of you who are pumpkin spice fans. Even if you're not a fan, I think that this candle would appeal to you. Just reading the description makes me want one! haha. It is described as dark, creamy, and rich with notes of cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. MMmmm. Sounds wonderful. It burns for 50-60 hours and is made of pure soy wax, so you won't have to worry about it quickly burning up and spewing ash everywhere. It sounds like a winner to me!
Item #5 is from MyMagicFelt
Look at this cutie! I love it. It's made of eco-friendly, polyester felt, filled with polyester fiber filling and has hand-stitching to create this cute little pumpkin form and face. This would definitely be something for those who have a small space to decorate--perfect for making your office space look ready for the season. Even if your space isn't tiny, I think you'd enjoy these. Make sure to check out all the other cuties in her shop.
item #6 is from MagikalFairyland
Need something to spice up a flower arrangement or just something to put in a bowl to bring fall into your home? These putka pods are just for you. You could even string them to make a garland. Putka pods are seed pods from an East Indian tree. The color will vary from bright orange and mustard to deep red and dark orange. They come scented like fall--cinnamon and pumkin harvest--but if you don't want them scented, they come that way, too.
Item #7 is from Chymiera
I saw this ring and thought, "now that's unique!" I never would have thought about drying actual pumpkins and using them in jewelry. With this ring, your little pumpkin sits on a base of moss. The ring base is antique brass and is adjustable, so one size fits all! It's definitely a statement piece and a great expression of fall!
Those are all of the pumpkin goodies that I have for you this week, but there are endless pumpkin items on Etsy. Now, head on over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love. I'll be back next week with more awesome goodies for you!
p.s. please feel free to share, tag, tweet, or pin :)
Hello, everyone! It's that time again! Are you ready for a brand new Weekly Wednesday? This week I thought it would be interesting to feature some items that were cacti or succulent related (I think they're the same thing though). I've been seeing them more and more on Etsy in my browsings so their popularity is growing, and I've gotten to where I like them more and more the more I see them. (I once had a cactus, but it died :( I think my dad had something to do with that because he flooded it with water one day....) I've included several items from a variety of categories to create a nice large set of cacti and succulent goodies so you can get your day's dose of them.
Item #1 is from omorfigia
Aren't these little magnets cute?! I think they'd really look good on any refrigerator but especially on the matte black one. These add a little more interest that your usual clip magnets and they use repurposed wine corks. I'm all about repurposed stuff. I've got my share of wine corks sitting in the kitchen waiting for a project. And guess what!? These succulents are alive! Yep, just make sure they get moderate light and a spray of water every week. Bet you can't saw you ever had magnets that were alive!
Item #2 is from thevysherbarium
I love canvas bags. They really hold up, you can take them anywhere, and you never have enough bags. This canvas is 100% cotton and the inks are eco-friendly and non-toxic. Eco-friendy, non-toxic, and organic---all are great things to have in a product. The design itself is a watercolor drawing done by the maker. I really like the color pallet that was picked because it's really soothing with a small pop of color.
Item #3 is from HoneyThistle
I couldn't go without featuring this cute prickly pear necklace, now could I? It's in my name! It has a real but cartoonish look to it and I love it! The maker created this piece out of raw brass and added a protective layer of wax on top to help retain the shine and prevent oxidation. It's also hand stamped, so you might get a little variation between the picture and your necklace. I think it'd be a nice detail to add to your outfit. I may have to get it for one of my shows...you now..represent The Prickly Pear ;)
Item #4 is from TroisFenetres
I bet you all thought I'd get through this post without a clothing item. You were wrong There aren't a large number of clothing items with cacti and succulents, but there are several to choose from. I love how this shirt has a round, boatneck and larger sleeves. It's different than the normal t-shirt or women's shaped t-shirt and I like that about it. The design itself is just neat. The fabric is jersey so you're going to get a softer shirt that drapes and lets you be comfortable (and we all want to be comfortable). If black isn't your favorite color (or if you have a white cat) it also comes in orange and mint.
Item #5 is from sawandsteel
Another trend that's been around a year or so is marquee letters and signs/shapes. Now, I've seen a lot of marquee items, but I've never seen a cactus! I think it's unique and really cute. The makers creates these out of steel, so it is completely customizable as far as size, color, and finish go. This particular listing is for one 24 inches tall, so it's a pretty good size. I don't think I'd go any larger (who knows though, I might), but I definitely could see a small one. Another good thing about this is that it can stand on it's own or be hung up on the wall. There are a number of places you could display this, and it definitely would add character to any room!
Item #6 is from TheCuriousCactus
Oh, lookie here! Succulent earrings! These are just plain cute and different from the flower earrings you usually see. The maker created these out of polymer clay and sealed them. I am no sculptor, so having the patience to do this is amazing. The posts are sterling silver, so there is no need to worry about allergic reactions with these. Make sure to check out the shop for more cute stuff!
Item #7 is from LittleFlossStudio
This is embroidery is just cute. I love it! You've got both cacti and succulents, so there's no need to choose! It's the best of both worlds.I love the variety of colors used and the variety of cacti/succulents. There are prickly ones and smooth ones, so there's a definite balance. It's something cute to add a finishing touch to your home!
Item #8 is from SewLovedYou
Come, on. Admit it. We can never have enough zipper pouches. I like to have certain things separated in my travel bag...ex: first aid stuff in one, makeup in another, another one for miscellaneous items... This lovely little bag is a very nice size at 7-1/4 inches wide X 5-1/2 inches tall and has interfacing that makes it sturdier and more durable. The inside is lined with the same teal material that is on the outside--I always hate it when a bag is cute on the outside and when I open the zipper, it's just plain--you've got to have that color to spice it up a bit. They have lots of prints, so make sure to check out their shop!
Item #9 is from Suite7Seven
Now you can take your love of cacti and succulents with you everywhere you go! Take them to work, out to dinner, or maybe just to the bathroom...hey we all take our phones with us to the bathroom and spend inordinate amounts of time in there...don't try to deny it. Sometimes you want some personality for your phone and others you just want the plain sleek look of the phone itself. This will definitely add personality and is available for several phone types!
Item #10 is from xxxRedStitcHxxx
The potholders are freakin' adorable. I'm in love! I'm a huge fan of kitchen stuff that's just plain different and these are different. They would add personality and whimsy to your cooking space, not to mention being a conversation piece. I started looking through the shop and I went nuts because I loved all of the things so much. If these were in a store in Amsterdam when I go in....43-ish days..I would so buy them without a second thought!
This is usually the spot where I sign off, but I found so many unique items in my browsings that I wanted to at least post them all, so what I'm going to do is post the link to the shop and a picture of the item (with a link on the picture itself). Also these are in no particular order of how much I liked them ;) With that said, enjoy the next few items and make sure to stop by your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!
