Hello, everyone! I thought that it was high time that I brought something new and completely different to the blog. We've got Weekly Wednesday, Food for Thought Monday, and Inspire Me Friday. No, this won't have day of the week in the title *chuckles to self.*
I've been subscribed to monthly beauty boxes off and on for a while--I think I've tried 6 different ones (including the one I'm currently getting). I like them because I don't have to commit to buying a full size product that I don't know that I'm going to like. I'm sure you guys feel the same way. Makeup and skincare is EXPENSIVE. It personally freaks me out to see what stuff actually costs and how much the price can skyrocket for the same type of item. I also like the variety and getting to try new stuff fairly often. As I'm growing tired of or used up the items from the previous month's box, I get a nice surprise in the mail!
I've decided to review the Target Beauty Box this month because I tried it once before, and I LOVED it. There was a great selection of products in nice sizes. There is one thing that I must tell you about the Target box though---you can't get it in a subscription; you've got to put the effort in to check the website at the beginning of the month to see if they're available. Check, and check often because they go QUICK.
Let's start the unboxing.....
This month, Target had two boxes--their regular one and then a natural one (normally they one put out one). This first box is the natural one.
Upon opening the box, I got a "Hello" from Target. It says:
Pure & Simple
Good, clean fun. That's what you'll find inside this box. We've gathered a few
of our all-natural obsessions--with better-for-you ingredients you can feel good
about. Try 'em out, and if you love them as much as we do, find the full-size
version at Target.com/BeautyBox.
On the back size of the main description are descriptions of each of the items in the box along with a $3 coupon on a beauty purchase of $15 or more.
All the goodies come wrapped in tissue paper. It adds a nice touch.
When I first used this, I thought it was going to smell really fruity because it looked like a strawberry puree. It really didn't smell like I thought it would, but I did like the way it made my face feel.
I love the light scent of these towelettes. They aren't to dry or too wet and really get the makeup off. Definitely a must for those days when you don't want to wash your face but need to get the makeup off....good for workout sessions too.
I LOVE the smell of this body wash! When I saw 'sugar,' I thought that it was an exfoliating scrub, but it's not. It's just a clear body wash that smells amazing! I highly recommend this one because it made my skin feel so clean and the smell is very invigorating. It would probably be best to use this in the morning when you need the energy unless you're heading out for a date.
I'm so use to regular toothpaste that this was a little different for me, but it does make my teeth feel nice and clean without using a ton of the product. It's not extremely minty, so don't freak out when you try it.
I mistakenly thought this was a peel off mask. I was sitting there trying to peel it off for a little while before I decided to check the packaging...silly me. It tingled a little bit as it dried, but I didn't notice a huge difference in my face.
I like the smell of this one, but the cream lift my face feeling sort of sticky like it hadn't been absorbed very well. The cleanser doesn't lather up, so be careful how much you decide to use.
This shampoo and conditioner have a very nice smell-very fruity. Because it's natural and doesn't include harmful chemicals, you won't get a lot of lather. If you have longer hair, be prepared to use a little more than normal. I really didn't notice a lot of added volume, but ,y hair looked very smooth. It didn't have as many knots in it the morning after sleeping on it.
The total value of this box was $75.00.
This is the regular beauty box from Target.
This is the 'Hello' from Target:
Peace of Mind
We're all about a little R&R. Inside this box you'll find a few of
our latest obsessions--inspired by moments of zen. Try 'em out, and if you love
them as much as we do, find the full size version at Target.com/BeautyBox.
And another $3 off $15 coupon! Beauty supplies can get expensive--even at Target!
All the goodies!
This one I've not had the chance to use just yet. I've been in one of those, "hurry up and get it done moods," and not taken the time for a nice soak in the tub...maybe I should do that sooner rather than later.
Boy do I need this! My nails chip all the time. I've used a Sally Hansen product before that was similar to this and loved it.
I'm always in need of sun screen and am excited to try this one out on our camping trip this weekend!
I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this one. It didn't take off my mascara and really didn't feel like an exfoliator. It also doesn't really have a scent if you're sensitive.
I really like this cleanser. It foams up nicely without having to use a lot of product, and it gets all of my makeup off...even the mascara.
Me and hair masks have had some issues in the past, but Argan oil has worked really well on my hair before, so my expectations for this one are slightly higher.
When it comes to eye liner, I'm totally lost! I don't really know what I'm doing, but I guess I could learn with this one...might make for an interesting time ;)
The total value of th s box was $50.00.
Overall, I am totally and completely satisfied with these two boxes! I love most of the products in them. There were a few things I don't normally use, but I can practice until I feel confident using them haha. If you like this box, make sure you keep an eye on Target's website the first week of the month to catch it! Also, if you have a red card, you save 5% and get free shipping. (Note: I have not been sent these boxes by Target nor am I receiving compensation for this post.)
Until next time,

Hello, everyone. It time for another Weekly Wednesday! This week I thought it might be an excellent idea to feature some festival jewelry since its getting to be that time of year. You want to by stylin' right? Stylin' and Profilin' actually. Can anyone else wait for the warm weather (I guess I should say STABLE warm weather)? The music?
Item #1 is from ROCKANDYdesigns
I've got to tell you--I love the combination of the raw calcite stone and the tiny pyrite stones. You all know how I love raw stone jewelry (if not, check out this post). I really think the difference in the sizes of the stones really makes the texture of the piece stand out. The base of he bracelet itself is a skinny, gold-plated cuff. Green calcite is commonly associated with money and success--who doesn't need that?
Item #2 is from DurangoDreamDesigns
These earrings exemplify minimalism at its finest. They are simple but still a statement piece. You can wear these as drop style earring or as ear climbers--a double duty piece for festivals is always nice! The fronts are flat, and the earring itself is 3/4 of an inch in length. They also come in silver-filled wire and copper, so if gold isn't your thing then you have an option--or maybe just get on of each!
Item #3 is from petitejewel
I'm really liking the simplicity of this necklace. It looks like it has a lot going on, but it really doesn't. It evokes a very nice boho vibe with the tassel--and nothing is more boho than the tassel. The necklace itself is a very nice 32 inches long, and the pendant is 4 inches long. I personally really like the length as it can go with a number of outfits. You have several lengths to choose from, so you can get the perfect length for you! It's definitely a piece that you need to add to your stash even if you're not a festival goer!
Item #4 is from LoveLilyandChloe
Don't get me started on agate slices! They're so neat, and each is slightly different from the last. This is a natural slice of agate that has 23-karat gold plated edges that comes on a customizable chain length. I really think this would be well-suited to a longer necklace because you really don't want something that large right up against your neck even if chokers have managed to make a comeback. The longer the necklace the more flowy and boho it looks.
Item #5 is from TheSilverStones
The color of the chrysoprase in these pendant is absolutely gorgeous! As I continue to look at the variation in each pendant the blue-green hue keeps jumping out at me. The stone has a pattern of green, brown, and black shades that lend themselves to the detail within each piece. This is another very simple necklace, but it's still a gorgeous piece that you really should consider getting your hands on!
That's all I have for you all this week my lovelies! I hope you've enjoyed it. What do you all wear when you go to festivals? Comment below and show me!
Almost forgot...head over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!

Hello, everyone! It's time for another Weekly Wednesday, and I have a treat for you. This week I've scoured Etsy and found some fabulous Doctor Who items! If you've never heard of or seen the BBC show, "Doctor Who," have you been living under a rock? You definitely should check it out! I started watching when Matt Smith was the current Doctor. I've since started watching the start of the relaunch, but I have yet to adventure into "classic" Who. There are many, many, many Whovians (fans of Doctor Who) across the globe who would love for you to join in on the Doctor Who fun, so why not whet your appetite with some neat little do dads?
Item #1 is from AlienEntertainment
Matt Smith, Doctor 11, had a thing for fezzes (and bowties). This patch is 4.5 inches tall and easily irons on to a backpack, jacket, or what have you. Why do you wear that Fez? "Because fezzes are cool."
Item #2 is from AFFPrints
If you've watched "Doctor Who" since the relaunch, you know that "Allons-y!" is a phrase used by the tenth doctor, David Tennant. All of the Doctors in the relaunch have a phrase they say when the adventure starts or when he is running away from the main antagonists of the episode. The print itself is of a voice image and "Allons-y!" I thought this was pretty neat because I've never actually seen a voice print before for Doctor Who. Something every true Whovian needs!
Item #3 is from VectorEngraving
I thought these earrings would be something super cute for a Whovian looking to show off the lover of their favorite TV show! These earrings are made of sustainably sourced (awesome!) maple wood and are etched with the TARDIS design
Item #4 is from TallTaleLaser
I saw this and was completely impressed at how neat this clock was. it has all the actors who played the Doctor as times on the face. If you aren't a Doctor Who fan, you wouldn't know what time it was or really what it meant. I guess you could just count it, but there would be no point in doing that, now would there?! It's almost like you have your own little secret club clock. The TARDIS and dalek are at the face's center--a nemesis and a true ally.
Item #5 is from Msemrick
Any Whovian know that when someone says, "don't blink," you definitely don't blink! You have to watch out for the weeping angels, who with one touch can send you into the past and feed of the energy for the present and future time that you would have lived. Technically you don't die, but instead are thrown into the past to live out the rest of your life. My fiance is really scared of these creatures and hides his fave every time they show up (he's leery of white sculptures anyway).
Item #6 is from scifistuff
Ok, guys and gals, here you go! This is a replica of Captain Jack Harkness's sonic blaster. What guy, gal, and tiny Whovian have ever wanted one of these to play with? Probably everyone! It also comes with an aluminum, lockable case. You'll be ready to go this next Halloween or Cos-play event!
Item #7 is from PoisonousFrog
Everyone know that Doctor River Song is a very important character to the Doctor Who story line. If she's one of your favorites, what a better way to show it than with this neat, distressed journal replica?! The journal is A6 size and hand-stitched and bound. It's a TARDIS style cover that is distressed by hand. This would be great to keep track of all your travelling (or time-traveling).
Item #8 is from geekcutter
Now you can have Doctor Who involved in every facet of your life! I present...the TARDIS cookie cutter/stamp! The cutter/stamp is printed by a 3-D printer and shipped to your home where you can make some yummy cookies and hopefully (fingers crossed) absorb some TARDIS energy.
Item #9 is from OrchardHouseSignswww.etsy.com/shop/OrchardHouseSigns?ref=l2-shopheader-name
This is probably one of the most famous quotes from the show. The wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey one. The images are done with paint, not vinyl, so you don't have to worry about the words peeling off. The wood sign is painted on is usually re-purposed (love this) from picket fences or damaged boards from hardware stores. Make sure to bring this quote into your home so that you may think about the "time" really is.
Item #10 is from Hx5Designs
Do any of you watch "Big Bang Theory?" If so, then you know the "Soft Kitty" song. That song is used to make Sheldon go to sleep. This pillow is a Doctor Who take on it. It's about the Daleks, who hate the Doctor with the fires of a thousand suns and want to exterminate him. This would be an awesome pillow for fans of both shows and definitely would be a conversation starter.
Item #11 is from SealedWithAStitch2
Anyone remember the Silence? Anyone? I didn't think so. They're the creatures that you forget you've seen after to look away unless you marked yourself of recorded yourself while seeing one like Amelia Pond did. I'm sure you're wondering, "If I just forget I saw them, they can't be that bad, right?" You're wrong my friend. Just because you forget that you saw them doesn't mean that they haven't left their influence on you. They can also shoot electrical energy from their hands (if you can call them hands), leaving a human as a pile of ash. The silence is important to the show because it involves the Doctor's "death." He cannot say his true name or he will restart a time war. If he can make them think he's dead, they won't come after him. In order to remember the silence, you need one of these in your home. Never forget.
Item #12 is from completelywiredjewel
Look what I've found! You can have your very own TARDIS key! Enter and you shall find that it bigger on the inside than the outside and travel through time! This vintage key is hand-stamped with "TARDIS" and placed on a stainless steel ball chain. Keep it one yourself in case of timey-wimey, wibbly-wobbly emergenices.
That's all I've got for you today my fellow Whovians! I hope you have enjoyed the selection I had for you today--I tried to make sure I had something for everyone! Make sure to tune in next week for another dose of some favorite items. Make sure to hop on over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!
Until next time,

Hello, everyone! Welcome to Weekly Wednesday! This week a have a little treat (or what I consider a treat) for you. I love color, and I love uniqueness, so it only seems right that I do something boho. I could feature boho stuff for days, because I love it so much. There are so many different aspects of jewelry that are incorporated into each and every bohemian piece, and that's why I love them--you get something unique that not everybody and his brother is going to have. I've tried to gather a wide range of products, but narrowing it down was tough. Tough, I tell ya! Anyway, I have more for later boho posts ;)
Item #1 is from AraigneeGypsie
I love me some layered jewelry, especially the kind that incorporates a variety of textures like this one. It has double dark brown leather cords, and antique brass chain, and a hand-woven wool bracelet. The colors are also a nice blend--khaki, red/orange (persimmon), green, and blue--and would be great for any season. The tassel is also a nice touch that completes the boho feel.
Item #2 is from StayGoldMaryRose
The first thing that caught my attention about this necklace was the absolutely stunning shade of blue. It reminds me of the blue glass you see sometimes, especially in antique stores. It's one of my favorite shades of blue. The spearhead is made of blue and white china--it's a pattern called 'Willow.' The design has a very tribal feel to it, so it would definitely compliment the boho style, or well, any style really. Shaping china is a very tedious task because you don't want to break it--I've tried to make stuff like this, but my patience ends up wearing too thin haha. The pendant is attached to a long antique copper chain measuring 3.78 inches (35 cm) from neck to pendant (the pendant itself measures 2.16 inches x 1.96 inches). I know this has nothing to do with the jewelry itself--it's more of a personal tidbit from my first trip to Europe. The town the shop is located in is Brighton, England. It was one of our stops, but we didn't get to spend nearly as much time there as we would have liked! There is next time, though! (Possibly for the honeymoon).
Item #3 is from AllieCatDesignStudio
Can you say, "Color?!" The mix of seed beads on this bracelet is awesome! They're bright but still very earthy. You've also got a variety of bead shoes to mix things up a bit. This bracelet is pretty much a one-size-fits-all since it's made of memory wire. It expands and contracts back to its original shape, but that doesn't mean you need to go pulling on it in every direction. You so get a choice of a little charm--a bell or a heart. I'll have to say that the bell is the cutest of the two. Definitely a versatile piece to have in your collection!
Item #4 is from stellacreations
Get the drool bucket out!! I LOVE this necklace--the colors, the variety of beads, the leather cording--everything! It has wonderful visual texture with the beads as well as the leather cording and is very well balanced. The maker even incorporates sari silk into this piece! I'm not a huge fan of heart charms, but this one is very subtle, so I'm actually liking it. It's so tribal and exactly what I'd think of when I hear 'boho.' It's got all the bells and whistles--even the evil eye and tassels. **Note: This isn't the best picture because it was unavailable when I was typing this up! The maker has many, many, many gorgeous items to see in her shop.
Item #5 is from Gypsymoondesigns
I'm so in love with the patina on this pendant. It always adds a little something extra to a design. It's also not the easiest thing to do when you have a specific color in mind, but it is so worth it in the end. A patina also gives the piece a vintage feel. I've never really thought about layering pendants, but this design does a really good job combining the two. It's definitely a Moroccan style (I would love to go here, too!) and would go great with many colors, especially jewel tones.
That's all I have for you all this week, my boho lovelies! I hope you've enjoyed this colorful and unique edition of Weekly Wednesday! I'll be back next week with more fabulous finds for your fabulous selves! Now, make sure to head on over to your favorite handmade site and show some artists some love!

Hi! I’m Meagan, designer for The Prickly Pear. I’ve created this blog to not only showcase my work and other crafty information, but also to give you an inside look into my life.
